The Samsung LN52A860 52 "LCD TV is simply amazing, I had my TV for about two months now, and I could not be happier. I spent about 5 weeks searching for a new TV at the end of last year. I looked at a variety producers including Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic, LG, Toshiba and some others, and it seemed I could not find a better picture (to me) that the Samsung 860th The price range is a bit 'cheaper than Sony, the size a TV you are looking for, whether it is 46 "from52 "or higher. 1080p, 120Hz Motion speed options, 50,000:1 dynamic contrast (for some reason, the Sony Bravia TV 4ms not list the contrast ratio on their models?) And response time of all the latest technical features that gives you the best possible image are now available. older models like the Samsung 750, 650 and 550 series is not clear how the number 860, and from what I read, had technical problems past. This TV has so manyoptions and image adjustments (some adjustments are not really important), it takes a couple of days to go through the manual, so you can use to adjust the picture but you like it! The TV is only 1.5 centimeters thick or heavy 60lbs each type of wall mount makes it much easier then the older model and much heavier. The image is how life is like looking out the window, but there is a small problem: it is a little gloss on the screen during the day the announcement that makes amore difficult. The older models like the 650 and 550 series are much worse and have more shine to the 860, so you have to think a bit 'on the TV to the wall where the sun is not directly on the screen. It's not like TV is a-watchable during the day, its just that you can still move a little 'closer to the TV does not see to see such splendor during the day. You must also consider getting a surround sound system (if not already one)thick as the television only to 1.5 mm, the speakers can be so large to be suitable ablt in the frame, but the sound is ok on TV if you use it, considering how small the speakers have.
Overall I am very pleased with this TV, all my friends and relatives that I have this TV show as the image quality, as I am, this Samsung 860 will appreciate the way of seeing anything from sports to change channel network surprised enjoy movies or regular!

I definitely recommend this TV to anyone looking to upgrade to 1080p in a small affordable package. I mainly use this to play xbox 360 games which look unbeleivably better in 1080p than 480fuzz. All this throught a component cable too; someone told me at circuit city that you couldn’t get 1080p through component, but Microsoft’s website said you could, and I am viewing xbox games in 1080p…so…it always pays to get a 2nd opinion. 5 inputs, with two hdmi, gives you a bunch of options, and for 800 bucks, this tv is a very good bargain. I will be in the market for a 52 aquos for the living room very soon. A Sony or Samsung will give you a nice picture too, but Sharp was cheaper, and as much as i love the 1080p pic versus the SD, i couldn’t tell that any brand was superior to the other. So price and inputs were the big one for me. This tv is small; you’ll want to be no more than 8 feet away, but it is perfect for a gaming tv or a bedroom tv. 1080i comcast cable is extremely bright and vivid over the 480i standard cable. What are you waiting for??

I was really, really tired of wading through all the This one is good, this one sucks B.S. about HDMI cables. So when amazon sent me a message that these were on sale I went for it and bought a couple. I got them at a price I can live with and I don’t have to worry about them falling apart on me. I’ve had this TV for a few weeks, and I really enjoy the picture quality when I have it hooked up to a device with component cables. Any standard definition device hooked up through composite is very poor quality, but I think that’s probably standard for HD TV’s.

I have noticed a lot of ghosting on this TV. In other words, if any kind of static image is left up on the TV even for just 15-30 minutes you will see that image for a while on black screens. I’ve had some problems with video games where you have static displays up for long periods of time. It sometimes takes a day or two to get the image retention to go away, but it does always go away. No burn in yet.

I may very well go with an LCD TV or maybe a panasonic plasma next time. I’ve heard that panasonic doesn’t have anywhere near the image retention problems that other tv manufacturers have.

I’d also like to mention that the shipping on this item was handled with gross incompetence on Amazon’s part. When you sign up for free super saver shipping, Amazon does not provide a field to put in your phone number. When ordering a large flat screen TV most companies will contact you to set up a delivery, and the one Amazon uses is no different. Since Amazon did not allow me to input my phone number I simply waited a week. I noticed that on the shipment tracking the item just stayed in my town for several days. I eventually found out that the shipping company would have simply kept the TV forever if I had not found a way to contact them and update them myself. Amazon really needs to fix this.
